2018 SLO Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth All Stars
SLO ALL STAR PROGRAM MISSION: To develop those players seeking to enhance their baseball skills, knowledge, and competitiveness by competing at a high level in organized tournaments. The 2018 All Star season is right around the corner. The All Star season will run from late May through the middle of the summer and will include participation in approximately four to six tournaments, some of which will be held in San Luis Obispo County and some of which will be hosted out of town.
Committing to the SLO All Star season is understood to involve at least the following:
All-Star parents will be asked to volunteer and assist at the “Beat the Heat” Baseball Tournament on June 9 & 10, which is hosted by our organization.
All-Star player families are asked to pay $150 each to help off-set the cost of All-Star Uniforms (which you keep) and the cost of tournaments. Please plan on additional costs for any addition gear (sweatshirts and such) that are often purchased by several or all families. *The board is always open to scholarship opportunities. Please contact via information below.
Some tournaments are held out of town. Families are responsible for their own travel, hotel, food, and gas expenses to these tournaments.

- June 9 & 10 in SLO

All-Star players are expected to be at all practices and at all tournaments, unless prior arrangements have been made with the All Star manager.
Lastly, All Stars is very competitive. Each team works hard to win games and tournaments. It is very likely that some players will have limited playing time and be asked to play different positions than they may have played during the regular season. There is no minimum playing time requirement during All Stars. We encourage all families to have an open discussion with the team manager at their age level about playing time and positions PRIOR to committing to the season. This commitment is huge, both financially and time wise, and it is always tough for families to travel out of town only to see their son play a small percentage of the time.
